Appointment Attendance Policy
At Foot Mechanics, your appointment time is reserved specifically for you.
When a patient does not attend an appointment, or cancels at short notice, we are often unable to offer that time to another patient who may be waiting for care. It also means our clinical team has prepared and set aside time that can no longer be used effectively.
To help us provide timely care to all patients, we ask that you give us at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Failure to Attend or Late Cancellation
Foot Mechanics reserves the right to charge the full appointment fee if you:
- Do not attend your booked appointment.
- Cancel or reschedule with less than 24 hours’ notice.
- Arrive too late for the appointment to be reasonably completed.
This charge reflects the reserved clinical time and the lost opportunity to offer that appointment to another patient.
Third-Party Funded Appointments
If your appointment is funded, partly funded, or expected to be paid by ACC, or another third party, you may still be responsible for a failed attendance or late cancellation fee.
Exceptional Circumstances
We understand that unexpected things happen.
If you miss an appointment because of a genuine emergency, serious illness, accident, bereavement, or another significant circumstance outside your control, please contact us as soon as possible. We will consider the situation fairly.
Repeat Missed Appointments
If appointments are repeatedly missed or cancelled at short notice, Foot Mechanics may require payment in advance before accepting future bookings.
We may also limit access to high-demand appointment times where repeated non-attendance affects other patients’ ability to receive care.
How to Cancel or Reschedule
To cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact your local Foot Mechanics clinic or our support team as soon as possible.
Giving us early notice helps us offer that appointment time to another patient.
